Time to finish my weirdly specific theme: Bosses that are forgotten because most haven’t seen them, even if they own the game. In short: these are either too hard to reach, too annoying to reach or in the worst cases: both. Today as the last part of my very specific marathon I’ll talk about a game in which you will also likely never see the true final boss because it is incredibly hard. But unlike with the previous ones, this time it is worth it. This little gem is named Contra: Shattered Soldier for the PS2. It was made by Konami and it is incredibly hard. Not much of a shock considering this franchise but this is easily one of the hardest games on the PS2. Yet at the same time it doesn’t feel as unfair as it should. You will die in one hit, lives and continues are limited and there are a ton of difficult parts in the levels and especially with the bosses. The bosses are complex, have multiple parts and phases and will often pull out a new nasty trick when you thought that you had

A long run series and the very first game came out on pretty much anything back then. It was on PC, on the Playstation 1, on the Sega Saturn and even on the Atari Jaguar. Later on it would also come out on Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DSi (that handheld had a download service that did include a version of Rayman) and finally it also came out on Android like probably about 60 % of any other game ever made. It is a bright and cheerful game, full of colors, a main character with a joyful smile and also pure and undiluted hatred towards the player. One of these things is not like the others. It is visually a fine testament that we should have kept 2D games at least one generation longer before moving on to 3D games. This is easily one of the best

In short: these are either too hard to reach, too annoying to reach or in the worst cases: both. Super Ghouls ´n Ghosts is the third game of the Ghosts ´n Goblins series made by Capcom. Also in case you are wondering, this isn’t a typo, the second game of the series was called Ghouls ´n Ghosts and since the third one came out for the Super Nintendo, they added a Super to the name. Weirdly enough the developers realized how confusing this naming theme is, so the later games just have Ghosts ´n Goblins in the title. The story is mostly the same in all games of the series: You are Arthur a valiant knight with the most breakable armor of all time, having to rescue the princess named… Prin Prin? Now that is quite the name for a princess. It is also an incredibly hard game by any normal standards but compared to the previous two games that had their origin

Yeah, I just don't like how that game ends. Endings are important. That is what people will remember the most clearly about your game afterwards.

Just look up how Tales of Monkey Island ends with an incredibly heartwarming puzzle after a big cinematic showdown with LeChuck alongside your clostest allies in that game:

"Courage, Anchor, Direction, Sacrifice. Place these things in a Ring at the center of the crossroads."

Before in this chapter you had to find four items representing these things before and place them in a ring. Here Guybrush realizes that the description also perfectly fits their wedding ring!

That was the first and only Monkey Island I played. The rest I just watched playthroughs of.

So did you watch the playthroughs first or played this game first?

I know it doesn't matter at this point, but Button Mash and Sweetie's relationship value in Rumors was intended to be OBJECTIVE, not ARBITRARY.

I thought it was adorable, especially how it started with Button Mash thinking that Sweetie Belle is suffering from amnesia when he checks her status with his gaming magic and sees that she barely knows he exists. It makes perfect sense from his perspective and then they build a geniune relationship for real.
